Project Durain Mac OS
Finally starting to feel productive in ProjectLibre but now my Gantt has grown larger than my screen I find that scrolling is really very sluggish. I'm running on OSX with plenty of free memory. Performance in all other apps is perfectly fine. The only other app with very slow scrolling is Aptana which I believe is also Java based? I've tried running ProjectLibre with the command line arguments: 'java -Xmx2048m -Dsun.java2d.opengl=true -jar projectlibre.jar' but this has made no difference. The smaller I make the Gantt Chart view port, the faster the list scrolls, to the point that if I hide the Gannt entirely by shrinking the window width, the remaining task lists scrolls up and down almost stutter free. At full screen though I'd say I'm getting may 1-2 fps scrolling, and the Gantt scroll position seems lagged behind the task list probably 2-3 seconds. My java version is:
Project Durian Mac Os 11
$ java -version
java version '1.7.0_71'
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_71-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.71-b01, mixed mode)
Project Durian Mac Os X
Anybody else out there with any tips? Thanks!
Projectlibre was founded to provide both a Cloud and desktop open source replacement of Microsoft Project. We have succeeded in that mission with the #1 alternative to Microsoft Project and a Cloud Beta coming soon. ProjectLibre has 5,000,000 desktop downloads in over 200 countries and translated into 29 languages. I have bought Project Professional 2016 through a HUP, but I cannot get this to download to my MAC. I either get a warning that 'no application can open it' or 'Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on OS X'. I cannot find a number to call anyone for help and the online customer Services page does not open. Project Management Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Business Process Management (BPM) Project Portfolio Management (PPM) PIM and PXM Field Service Management Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Stock Management CMMS Business Management Quality Management Logistics Material Resource Planning (MRP) Business Workflow Planning Environment, Health. . Runs on any Mac with Yosemite or above. Looks and feels just like MS Project, but on your Mac!. Supports files created in versions of MS Project, going all the way back to Microsoft Project 98. Integrated with all major cloud providers, such as Google Drive, iCloud, One Drive, Box, Dropbox, SharePoint Online and Project Online. Ready for large corporate Mac deployments.
Use a Boot Camp partition to install Window OS on your Mac, then install MS Project there, or Use Parallels or VMware Fusion to create a Virtual Machine, install Windows on the VM, then install MS Project there, or Look into whether a program called CrossOver supports MS Project. If so, it doesn't require the Window OS.

But my suggestion is to compile Tn-Grid for your platform (https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test): the source code is very easy and can be compiled only by executing scripts present in the source tree (of course you have to modify them by inserting ppc instead of x86); plus it requires very few ram and runs very good even on very old machines. Moreover, there is interest in its community to port the project to other platforms soon, such as Mips@OpenWRT and Arm@Android, so perhaps if you write in the forum it can be possible that some guy compiles the app for you (I could try but I do not have a ppc computer for testing) if you are not able to do it on your own. It is a very interesting biology project and they are doing right now also researches on coronavirus. Cheers :) |

EAH updated its SSL system four years again and the 10.5.8-compatible BOINC client can no longer communicate with it. It's possible there's still work for those with the know-how to recompile with a more up-to-date SSL certificate, but essentially PowerPC Macs and Mac OS 10.5.8 are no longer supported.NG |
